every 15 minutes,
someone is killed or seriously injured as the result of an alcohol related collision
On January 26, there was a traffic accident simulation to replicate the events that occur every 15 minutes throughout the United States.
Students witnessed the consequences that were the result of these accidents.
Every 15 minutes, the Grim Reaper collected students throughout the morning who had "died" from a drunk driving accident. These students then experienced what life was like as a dead person.
They had no contact with the outside world for a day, staying at a hotel as a group overnight.
During third period, juniors and seniors witnessed a "car crash" that was set up by the City of Henderson and Henderson Police on Heather Drive.
The students saw and felt the impact that drunk driving has on those they knew. The program is geared to make teens think twice before they get behind the wheel while intoxicated.
