Ever wonder what that dreadful smell is lurking through the halls like an infectious disease. Mrs. Mayes' class has been dissecting dead cats as a lab to show students the muscles of the cat and how each works.
“Cutting open the cat was no problem for me, but the smell!" said Savannah Lopez. "The smell is horrible, but it’s interesting cutting through the cat. It helps us understand how not only the cat but the human body works as well."
This lab is mainly for students hoping to go into the medical field and is seeing if they can handle the experience or not. Mrs. Mayes said the lab teaches them about the muscles in the human body and how the muscles in a cat are the same as humans.
